    Title: Configuration Management Specialist Lead

                                                             

    Location: Ft. Huachuca, Arizona (EPG)

    Clearance Level Required: Candidate must be able to obtain Secret Clearance. Active or interim security clearance a plus.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • The Configuration Management (CM) Team implements change control activities for EPG projects. CM supports multiple project teams and performs administration and maintenance of the automated CM solution.  Currently, this is a software development CM position but plans are to expand the scope in the near future related to hardware and documentation tracking.  Responsibilities and activities  include:
    • Reports directly to the Section Lead for the Test Technology Section and interfaces with all levels of management, to include the CM Government Project Lead
    • Defines and implements CM process, policies, procedures
    • Coordinates, supports, and performs CM activities for EPG projects and reports on those activities to supervisor, project managers, and Configuration Control Boards (CCB)
    • Supports local and remote EPG projects and users through project repository creation (SharePoint and Team Foundation), customization and maintenance, end-user training, ad hoc troubleshooting
    • Ensures administration of server patches and system upgrades; coordinates with the Network Team
    • Facilitates formal and informal CCB and Developer Working Group activities
    • Creates media for customer product deliveries and maintains both online and physical release media libraries
    • Tracks Work Items, and maintains technical baseline documents
    • Controls EPG approved Marketing Material
    • Supports the System Engineering Team and other groups as needed
    • Provides CM input/content as requested
    • Provides a weekly report to the section lead, task lead or other designee
    • Coordinates across multiple development sites.

    Qualifications:

    •·         Provide solid understanding of CM practices and principles

    •·         Possess excellent communication skills

    •·         Possess ability to mentor both technical and non-technical resources to follow established CM practices

    •·         Skilled at work planning, juggling competing priorities

    •·         Must be able to effectively complete simultaneous tasks on several projects with independent deadlines and deliverables.

    •·         Must possess experience with CM tools in a primarily Windows-based development shop; Team Foundation experience is preferred. Additional experience with Subversion a plus.

    •·         Good team player

    ·         Be proficient in MS Office suite.

    ·         Leader with in-depth understanding of CM principles.  Must be organized and able to direct the team as well as change scope as requirements change. Be able to perform System Administration for the CM server.

    •·         Must be capable performing software builds, and developing and implementing CM Plan.

    Prefer familiarity with Agile Development environment and cognizant of CMMI practices and principles.

    Educational Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years experience desired or equivalent (10 years experience with no degree).

    Certifications:

    Software Configuration Management Certification a plus

    CMMI-Based Professional Certifications a plus

    Physical Requirements:

    Candidate must be physically able to stoop, bend, and lift equipment weighing up to 50-lbs.  Move about freely in a laboratory environment, lifting and reaching. Work includes visual inspections inside and outside.  Must be able to climb ladders, crawl and maneuver in and out of confined spaces. Work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions, with exposure to temperature variations, noise, and dust; may involve working outside in direct sun and standing on hard and rough surfaces or terrain for short periods of time.

    Additional Requirements:

    Able to work varied shifts, weekends, overtime and travel as required. Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Candidate must: be able to handle stress; work well under pressure; possess interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment; possess solid written and oral communication skills; be able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment; and be proficient using a PC and MS Office Suite.
