As a new learner I might stumble. However it is my opinion that the only difference between a stumbling block and stepping stones is how you step on them.

My orientation was perhaps somewhat different, as it was partly devoted to an educational process for the new Executive Officer and the Resource Officer. I am always delighted to share my time and learning process with anyone else. That is what life is all about. Sharing and learning with and from each other.

Orientation was held at my home, complete with coffee and some goodies. I must admit I felt a little confused when it was over, but never let it be said that I will not make every attempt to figure it out and hopefully be a resource to someone else that might feel somewhat confused. I have been through many learning situations during my life time and in most cases one feels just a little confused at first. I say, that should never deter you. Lace up your boots and march on. I have always felt every situation should always be met head on with a determination to make sure you come out of it a winner and that your ultimate goal is to help others.

You will learn more about me as I start my "paper back". Let me assure you it will be more like a novel with about 3 or 4 additional volumes. My goal is to let you know the issues I have dealt with and what I did to eventually become successful. Some of it will be funny and sometimes you will say. "I don't believe it". Be assured every word written will be factual. So hope you stay tuned for the life and tribulations and successes of this new learner.

    How exciting to see you start your novel!

    I have no doubt that your story will honor the military, yourself, and all who you've followd. I also have no doubt that those of us who come after you will be better people after reading your story.

      Thank you so much for your kind remarks. The world needs a few hundred people like you. A few thousand wouldn't be necessary. A few hundred would certainly improve tons of situations.
      I have decided to tell my story in short segments. One of my brothers tells me I am prone to TMI. No, not a medical disease. Likely a hoof an mouth disease referred to by my brother as "Too much information". So I will follow his wise advise.
      And I thank you also for serving our "Great Nation".
      You are special and I always give hugs to special people.

      Thank you for your reply. You are a loyal and dedicated person and always there during times of need. Be it run to my side if I happen to end up in the ER with a fracture and then be willing to go to my home to watch over my 3 poodles. And let me tell you, they are experts at knowing who is a special person, and they whisper in my ear occassionally. "Where is our Frances". Who knows better than a smart poodle that you are someone special. And guess what. Everyone that reads my replies might think I should be in a white jacket with the arms tied behind me. But we know better, I think.

    I am happy to be a fellow learner with you as you are a true inspiration to show how obstacles can be overcome and real progress made. I recall meeting you for the first time just before the grand opening of the center, which is dedicated to your honor. I am looking forward to our continued friendship and association. I know we are all the richer for having met you. Lets do all we can together to help our fellow Vets and to give guidance to our neighbors, where communities serve veterans.       I'm delighted to have you added to the reply list and just in time. I was considering getting out my resusitation equipment or posting a question asking if everyone had gone on vacation.
      However, as I know you are indeed a very hard worker and loyal, I should not have been surprised to find you as my 8th hero. I look forward to learning how to help others learn.
      I believe if you give to the world the best you have, the best will be returned to you. I consider this new adventure exciting and stimulating, not to mention the opportunity to meet and create a friendship with some very special people.
      So my friend, it is onward and upward.
      As for Vegas at the Veterans Conference, that would be a great and fantastic pleasure for me.

    I wrote a nice Blog already , but for some reason it did not post. So here we go again. I was hoping you could wait for this magical moment until Al and I could be there, but we know when you make up your mind it's full speed ahead!       What a delight to see your post. I was getting worried big time. I think Al is aware of our private joke. I mentioned it during orientation. I asked if my replies had to be answered in English. He actually said No. I doubt he had any idea what mischief I might be up to. I can hardly wait to write Chapter II. I have no idea who decided I do my signing on Saturday 8 August. Sometimes I do what I'm told to do. If you can believe that.
