The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness, and the power of
contemplation rather than upon mere survival. - Aristotle

As you look over the plan below, start setting goals based on the steps laid
out here. To be more effective, goals should be specific, have deadlines, and
include an action you can take towards each one this week. Take that first
action as soon as possible to get the momentum going in your favor.

    1.
Get free of any non-productive debt, including housing debt that costs
you significantly more than rent would.

    2. Make preparations for unexpected events, including health issues,
emergency trips and auto and home repairs.

    3. Have money set aside to live on for six months or more in case your
primary source(s) of income are interrupted.

    4. Take steps to reduce the probability of losing your job or business
    income.

    5. Learn any necessary skills for economic survival, including those that
will enable you to get jobs or start businesses.

    6. Develop several sources of income, which can include jobs, but should
also include business and investment income.

    7. Develop at least one source of residual income, so you have something
coming in even if you are unable to do anything.

    8. Control your expenditures so that you're able to live on 75% or less of
    what you currently make.

    9. Have realistic contingency plans for several scenarios that are possible,
such as job loss, business failure, or treating a major illness without health
    insurance.

DOD Welcome home-small.jpg A welcoming home for our Troops.

Welcoming home our men and women doesn't end after the crowd disperses, it MUST continue on for the life of the Veteran! They've served us, now we will serve them with programs that work so they reintegrate into society.

We are a national public benefit nonprofit organization that educates American Communities about best practices to serve Veterans.  We honor their service by empowering Veterans to apply their training and skills to successfully transition to productive careers and enterprises.

We provide free vocational training 24/7 to all of our members through our website, in addition to local events.  We believe the tenet that American Communities are the ultimate beneficiaries when Veterans claim their benefits and invest in productive endeavors.

The SWVBRC enlists the support of members of local Communities like you to increase Veteran awareness of the value of obtaining a VA card and receiving earned benefits.

Sponsorships, donations, volunteers and support from communities like yours enable us to reach out to Veterans and empower them to transition back into successful, productive enterprises that ultimately benefit all Americans and support future generations.
