    My latest....Bud

Just recently the Secretary of Homeland Security made a commitment to
increase our workforce by 50,000 veterans by 2012 and our office
alone is in the process of posting nearly 60 new positions here in
    Washington, DC.

We strongly encourage all of you to visit the DHS Careers page at
www.dhs.gov/careers or the Veterans Outreach webpage at
www.dhs.gov/veterans for information on the department as well as
useful information available to veterans.  Additionally, apply to
current jobs in Homeland by visiting this link.

Attached, you will find useful information that can help and guide
you in your job search as well as answer some frequently asked
questions most veterans ask in the application and hiring process.
The information provided was presented at the two workshops and as
promised everyone who registered and provided an email address is
receiving a copy of that information.

If you have any questions please address those to the following email
address:  vets@hq.dhs.gov Please do not respond to this email.  Due
to the volume of emails received someone will address you answers or
concerns with 5 to 7 business days.

Again, thank you for your participation, thank you for your service
and good luck and best wishes in your job search.

    Sincerely,
    Paul Plascenia

comments:    I manage the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) contract
from the contractor side, EDS, An HP Company. There are a variety of
positions that are open, and we have so many recently transitioned
Marines who have joined the support team here at Camp Pendleton, I
wanted to make sure that the channels were open for anyone
interested, not just those with whom we have worked closely. What
would be the best method, other than the entering in the specific job
openings as they come up, to make the information available?
